Aquest Electrical has outsparked its peers to be named Whyalla Chamber of Commerce and Industry Outstanding Business of the Month for February.

Presenting the award Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Ron Hay said the industrial and commercial service business had been nominated for its “professionalism” and customer satisfaction.

Mr Hay said many associated the award with retail but the same customer service values applied to all businesses.

“Most people relate this award to retail which is not the God’s truth, it’s for all businesses,” he said.

“The Outstanding Business of the Month can come from any area or field within the business community whether it be a retail, service or hospitality organisation.”

Aquest Electrical co-director Jason Godfrey said it was an “excellent” feeling to receive the award and it was recognition that the standard the business aimed for was met by all staff.

“It’s good to be acknowledged for the effort that you put in and the service you provide,” Mr Godfrey said.

“The fact that someone has nominated us shows that the work we put in has paid off.”

Mr Godfrey said the award meant Aquest Electrical ‘must be doing something right’ and the award carried even more weight given the tough times the industry was going through.

Mr Godfrey said Aquest Electrical relied on word-of-mouth to promote the business and meeting high service standards was critical to gaining repeat customers.

Mr Godfrey said Aquest Electrical followed a simple equation to be successful.

“If you don’t have happy customers, you don’t have customers,” he said.
