Office National Whyalla was awarded business of the month for December by Whyalla Chamber of Commerce for its dedication to its customers.
Whyalla Chamber of Commerce president Ron Hay said Office National’s customer first mindset was fantastic.
Mr Hay said Office National showed great pride and determination to provide its customers extraordinary services and goods.
He said based on feedback from nominations, customers had walked out of Office National Whyalla with a positive feeling and experience.
Mr Hay said Office National “went that extra mile” in terms of satisfying customers’ specific needs.
“They are always willing to order in special items for customers whether it is a large or small scale,” he said.
Office National Whyalla manager Karen Koch said she was excited and thrilled to have won business of the month for December.
Mrs Koch said it was a rewarding feeling to hear customers had enjoyed their experience so much they filled in a nomination for business of the month.
Mrs Koch said it was the first time Office National Whyalla had won the award.
With only one other staff member in sales assistant Tanya Scarman, Mrs Koch took over as manager in January 2014.
Mrs Koch said once she was appointed manager she wanted to implement major changes for the business.
“I wanted to brighten up the shop, so I moved some things around,” she said.
“I wanted to make the shop more appealing, and I wanted to draw more foot traffic in because we didn’t have an awful lot.”
Mrs Koch said the makeover of the shop had created more foot traffic and had increased her customer base.
She said she was not expecting to ever win the award.
Mrs Koch said she wanted to thank her fellow staff member in Tanya Scarman and their wonderful customers.
“Hopefully this can put Office National on the map a bit more here, so people can see that it’s not just for businesses as we can service the whole community,” she said.
